What is Body Warmer Patch?
Body warmer patch can be also called warm baby, body heat patch, heat patch, body warmer, warmer patch, winter heat patch, which is usually used to keep warm. The hand and foot warmer was first patented by Jonathan T. Ellis of New Jersey in 1891, though no evidence exists that it was ever produced.
The first commercially-produced hand warmer was created by Japanese inventor Niichi Matoba. Matoba received a patent for applying the principle of an oxidation reaction that produces heat by means of platinum catalysis. He then devoted his time to researching how to make the product suitable for practical use. In 1923, he manufactured a prototype of his device naming it HAKUKIN-kairo (HAKKIN warmer).A version of these original portable hand warmers is still produced in Japan.
How it works?
Body warmer patch is composed of raw material layer, gelatin layer and non-woven bag. The non-woven bag is made of a microporous breathable film, and it also has a conventional airtight outer bag. When using, remove the outer bag and let the inner bag (non-woven bag) be exposed to the air, and the oxygen in the air enters the inside through the breathable membrane. The time and temperature of heat release are controlled by the oxygen permeability rate of the breathable membrane. If the oxygen permeation is too fast, the heat will be released at once and the skin may be burned. If the oxygen permeation is too slow, there will be no temperature.
After use, it turns into a dark brown solid, which contains carbon powder, NaCl solid, Fe2O3 solid, and magnesium-aluminum-containing salts.
