01. What is Capsicum Plaster?

Capsicum plaster is a topical pain relief product made from natural capsaicin extracted from hot peppers. Also called chili plaster or capsicum cream, it contains a high concentration of capsaicin for enhanced therapeutic benefits. The capsaicin is infused into a medicated plaster or cream.

02. How Capsaicin Relieves Pain

When applied to the skin, capsaicin soaks through surface layers and binds to pain receptors called TRPV1 receptors. This generates a warm, tingling sensation as the receptors are activated. With prolonged exposure, the receptors get overwhelmed and substance P, a neurotransmitter that communicates pain, gets depleted locally. This provides targeted pain relief to the applied area.

03. Anti-Inflammatory Effects

In addition to blocking pain signals, early research shows capsaicin has anti-inflammatory properties. It appears to inhibit neuropeptides that regulate inflammation. The increased blood flow to the area induced by capsaicin may also flush out inflammatory compounds. More studies are underway to confirm these effects.

04. Muscle Pain and Injury Treatment

Capsicum plaster can provide therapeutic relief when used to treat muscle strains, spasms, fibromyalgia, and exercise-induced muscle pain. By alleviating pain and relaxing muscles, it can support physical therapy and rehabilitation programs to regain strength and mobility. The plaster is also beneficial for managing chronic conditions like arthritis or neuropathic pain.

05. Natural, Safe Pain Relief

When used as directed, capsicum plaster is generally safe and well tolerated. It offers a reusable, mess-free option for natural muscle and joint pain relief. Capsicum plaster is emerging as an effective remedy backed by science and tradition.
